Thailand
It’s hard to know even where to begin with Thailand. In this incredible destination, the people are welcoming, the culture is simply awe-inspiring, the food is next-level delicious and the scenery – ah, the scenery – is just oh-so-pretty. We’re constantly drawn to its islands (Koh Samui, Phuket and Koh Lanta are our favourite options), where soaring limestone cliffs shelter shockingly-turquoise bays from the rest of the world and time just seems to slow. Home to seemingly endless stretches of sandy coastline, gilded cultural sites and a growing foodie scene, they’re the perfect setting for a romantic escape.
If you’re wanting somewhere a little more ‘off the radar’, head to Chiang Mai in the north for mountains, elaborately carved temples, adventure camps, elephant sanctuaries and fascinating hill tribal culture. And don’t overlook Bangkok – there’s more to visit here than just the busy airport, with funky bars, the Grand Palace and exciting markets on pretty much every corner, plus the old town on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
