Sample Singapore’s flavours at the Singapore Food Festival
It’s no secret that Singapore is a powerhouse in the culinary scene, with everything from sensational (but cost effective) street food to Michelin-starred restaurants available at your fingertips. Celebrating it all, the Singapore Food Festival (13-29 July) is definitely worth adding to your itinerary. Featuring a range of events (including workshops, cultural tours, chef collaborations and epic-scale barbecues with live music), the festival is perfect for sampling the very best that Singapore’s foodies have to offer.
Toast the occasion at a newly (re)opened icon
Synonymous with Singapore’s colonial heritage and old-world glamour, Raffles Singapore will reopen its famous doors in the second half of 2018. The grand old dame has undergone a bit of a makeover but will stay true to its classic style. Needless to say it’ll be one of the city’s hottest spots for sipping a Singpore Sling (the cocktail was actually invented here!). In the mean time, you can still order the hotel’s famous drink at a popup bar next to the gift shop.

Be dazzled by the Singapore Night Festival
Singapore puts on one seriously impressive show in August (17-25), when the city illuminates for the Singapore Night Festival. Including everything from street carnivals to theatre and dance parties, the festival’s programme transforms Singapore’s Bras Basah.Bugis precinct into a hub of incredible entertainment. A real highlight, SNF’s night light displays are a must-see. Illuminating buildings and art installations in vibrant colour, the event is simply magical to see.
Get cultured at the Singapore International Festival of Arts
Culture vultures, book your flight now. Held between April 26 to May 12, the Singapore International Festival of Arts celebrates amazing talent from the city and around the world. Theatre, dance, music, art, pop culture, literature – it all comes together at this sensational festival for audiences to experience. Do. Not. Miss.
Pick up a souvenir (or five) at the Great Singapore Sale
If shopping for a bargain is more your thing, time your visit for between June and August. A massive event that transforms the entire island into one giant shopper’s paradise, the Great Singapore Sale is where you can score deals on just about everything – from fashion to electronics; jewellery to spa treatments. You’ll even find brilliant sales at the high-end Orchard Road and its many boutiques.
