Samoa For Two

In a sapphire ocean scattered with emerald islands, Samoa is a precious gem – cool, clear water that invites you in to swim, fabulous surfing, waterfalls that tumble down forested hills into swimming spots so pristine that you’ll think you are the first to find them, and engagingly friendly, laid-back locals who relish sharing their paradise with you.

Whether your idea of heaven is lazy days on the beach or by the pool, diving, snorkelling, fishing, golfing, walking or hiking, Samoa provides the perfect backdrop to these activities and more – or for absolutely no activity at all. For couples of all ages, Samoa offers the opportunity to reconnect with a simple, peaceful lifestyle – and each other – in a glorious setting.

Accommodation ranges from luxury to breezy beach falés and because of the value of the Australian dollar, it’s very affordable. The capital, Apia, is where you’ll go to find restaurants, cafes and nightclubs, and the markets which are the heartbeat of the city. Go to the flea market for reasonably priced souvenirs and arefacts, and if you love local colour check out the fish and food markets.

There are no big chain hotels or resorts in Samoa, a deliberate decision by the Government to try to retain the intrinsic essence of the islands, so a holiday in Samoa is a truly authentic experience – but you will still find luxury accommodation and the spa scene is well established. The sheltering reef which protects the beaches means that you can snorkel off the beach … drifting across beautiful corals and myriad colourful fish – and I’m told there are no sharks – always a plus!
