Attention Beatles Fans: Hard Days Night Hotel, Liverpool

Liverpool, a busy sea port on the River Mersey in north-west England, was voted European City Of Culture in 2008. Renowned for its humour and a love of the arts, this football-mad community, and home of the Beatles, is experiencing a resurgence since the heady days of the Swingin’ Sixties when the city rocked to the music of the Fab Four.

In celebration of its favourite sons, the Hard Days Night Boutique Hotel is a unique Beatles-themed hotel in the heart of the city’s brand new retail centre, and a must for fans of the era. It breathes the music, the art and the talents of the Liverpool lads, from the hundreds of sheet music copies hanging from the ceiling of the hotel foyer to the nostalgic photos throughout the hotel, not to mention the background music which plays night and day.

The Rooms

The rooms are spacious and stylishly appointed in keeping with the ‘feel’ of the original building which dates back to the 1880s. Deluxe rooms on the rooftop extension all continue the theme of the hotel, and have their own balconies where you can enjoy a quiet drink while taking in views of the city skyline and listening to the seagulls at the nearby Pier Head. The jewels in the crown though are the penthouse suites dedicated to Lennon and McCartney, the former complete with baby grand white piano, and the latter with a suit of armour to reflect Sir Paul’s knighthood.

Couples will Love

Relaxing with a cocktail in the luxury of Bar Four at the hotel’s entrance after a hard day’s shopping in the superb new Liverpool One shopping centre, or enjoying a light snack in the vibrant Lounge Bar while admiring the unique artwork and nostalgic photos of Liverpool in the 60s. Maybe later, an evening stroll around the corner to where it all began – The famous Cavern Club and a host of bars and pubs where the music is pumping late into the night and the party swings on.

Taste Temptations

Blakes Restaurant (named after Sir Peter Blake who designed the Sergeant Peppers album cover) is a multi award-winning a la carte eatery where you can enjoy wines and spirits from around the world over a romantic dinner for two. Just along the road there’s a fine Spanish restaurant, Las Vinas, and in nearby Mathew Street some great pub food as you soak up the atmosphere of the Mersey Beat era.

Venturing Out

There’s so much to see with the city centre right at your doorstep. The Magical Mystery Tour is a fun thing to do, taking in Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, and the original homes of John, Paul, George and Ringo where so many of those great songs were written, and a walk to the waterfront is a must with the Liver Buildings, the re-vitalised Albert Dock, and maybe even a ‘ferry across the Mersey’.

Getting There

The hotel is situated in the heart of Liverpool City Centre, on North John Street, check the hotel website for directions. Hard Days Night Hotel customers can now also use the parking facilities within the new Liverpool One complex in the Strand Car Park, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. A valet parking service is also available.
