If you’re searching for a beautiful honeymoon location by the beach in Bali, look no further than the Hyatt Regency Bali. This grand old dame was one of Bali’s original five-star hotels. Visitors today enjoy the breath of fresh air created over five years of renovations, combined with one of the best — and most prominent — beachfront locations in lovely Sanur.
Although the entire hotel has been renewed, Hyatt Regency Bali stays true to its roots from 1973: the swirl of history is embedded while all the modern touches ensure today’s travellers are more than satisfied. Stunning natural surroundings, including established large trees for an ever-present soundtrack of birdsong, impeccable service, and a blissful (and huge!) spa will whisk you away from the world. You’ll feel like the only people in paradise.

The location:
Located in relaxed Sanur on the island’s east coast, the Hyatt Regency Bali embraces you on arrival with its laid-back charm. Surrounded by nature and set over nine lush tropical hectares, the resort announces itself with a traditionally Balinese-style open-air lobby flanked by gardens and statues. The vibe is instantaneous relaxation, with the ocean breeze wafting through. Touches of warm and salty notes awaken the spirit, and with the Balinese music in the background, you know you’ve arrived.
This beautiful beachfront property features three splendid pool areas, a deluxe spa (complete with an adults-only pool available to guests), and a fitness centre. Three dining outlets ensure all your holiday meals are catered for — from a delicious buffet breakfast right through to a late dinner.
Chances are, it’s the beach where you’ll be spending your days, and the resort has lounges right near the sand exclusively for guests. Walk or bike to Sanur via the paved beachside esplanade — the hotel is in the heart of Sanur so there’s plenty of dining and shopping on your doorstep.
While the Hyatt Regency Bali is child-friendly, it does a seamless job of creating peacefulness that couples on a honeymoon or romantic getaway will appreciate. Our tip? The adults-only pool at the spa and the hydrotherapy pools, also at the spa, deserve a daily visit!
Speaking of which, the property’s Shankha Spa is a destination in itself. Wooden walkways over the lotus ponds lead the way in, creating a sanctuary feel. One of the most romantic indulgences here is a couple’s treatment in a private spa villa with large glass walls overlooking the verdant greenery beyond.
Food & Drink:
It’s lovely to explore the many affordable options outside the resort in Sanur, though the Hyatt Regency Bali presents dining that is worth the experience (and is also priced very reasonably). Pizzaria is the property’s Italian beachfront restaurant, and they do a mean pizza! On the menu are sourdough woodfired pizzas and other favourite Italian dishes and desserts. It’s a comfortable place to chill with the ocean breeze and seaside vistas.
One place you don’t want to miss is Omang Omang. This stunning restaurant creates an exotic atmosphere in the open air with lotus ponds and gardens. Featuring Indonesian and Western options, you can dine here for breakfast (we did the buffet most mornings, and it was fabulous — we didn’t even have to give up our green juices and almond cappuccinos), lunch, or dinner. Everything from curries and burgers to seafood and charcoal-grill meats is on the menu, allowing you to find something to please your palate. We couldn’t get enough of the Quinoa Halloumi Salad here!
After a day of sightseeing, pop into the Piano Lounge, adjacent to the lobby. It’s a relaxing spot that’s ideal for a pre-dinner cocktail (or mocktail), nightcap or even an afternoon tea. With a Mojito in hand, you’ll wish you could lounge here forever.
Best room for two:
The Hyatt Regency Bali features a total of 363 rooms and suites, all with a warm, modern Balinese feel. Couples will adore the Executive Suites with spacious balconies that afford the best views and privacy. Access to the Regency Club between 6:30 am – 9:00 pm is also a great bonus, giving you fantastic benefits and luxuries like daily breakfast, coffee and tea, and cocktail hour each evening from 5 pm to 7 pm.
