The Clan, Singapore

The Clan Hotel Facade

If you like a little intrigue with your five-star urban escape, this new Singapore hotel might be your cup of (perfectly brewed) tea.

Opened in March 2021, The Clan Hotel weaves an intoxicating spell in the heart of the CBD, fusing old-world charm with modern luxury. The 30-storey oasis occupies an historic crossroads at Telok Ayer, with a backdrop of traditional shopfronts and sleek skyscrapers inspiring a richly layered mood. It’s another impressive offering from Singapore-based Far East Hospitality.

The Lobby The Clan

The Clan promises an experience akin to an exclusive club, pledging to “take care of you like you were one of our very own.” To set the scene, consider this arrival detail: a personal tea service prepared as a welcome/initiation into the hotel’s hidden world of discovery and indulgence.

Honestly, that Singapore-Australia bubble can’t inflate fast enough.

The location:
Close to the waterfront and an arrival point for migrants during the 1800s, The Clan’s Cross Street location has always been a bustling hub of culture and commerce. Today it’s central and well connected for couples planning a Singapore escape. You’ll have the Telok Ayer MRT on your doorstep, and the CBD, Chinatown, and Sri Mariamman Hindu temple just a few minutes’ walk away. A longer stroll (or short drive) will deliver you to The National Museum, retail mecca Orchard Road, and the myriad attractions of Marina Bay Sands.

Hotel highlights:
The hotel assembled The Clan Collective (a talented line-up of local artists, makers, and entrepreneurs) to help develop its identity — driven by the spirit of kinship and hospitality. Artful, curated touches abound while a sense of nostalgia threads through every level. Oh, and look out for the vintage umbrella collection (very Kingsman).

City views and modern Chinese dining are celebrated at Qin Restaurant and Bar while cocktails await at the level 5 bar. Chasing a sunset perch? Slip up to the Sky Pool on Level 30 where you’ll find Singapore’s old-meets-new skyline almost within reach.

Room to book:
The 324-room property offers a refined sense of luxury and calm across their Deluxe, Premiere, and Grand Premiere categories. Ready for another cup of tea? You’ll find the hotel’s exclusive Nanyang Ritual blend and Bak Kut Teh cookies in-room as well as thoughtful touches like UV light sterilisers to refresh your phone after a day of exploring.

For a romantic getaway, book one of the Master Series rooms (Premiere and Grand Premiere) to unlock a host of exclusive perks and in-room treats. We’re talking elevated views, bathtubs, an all-day breakfast which can be taken in-room, customised refreshments, and a top-shelf turndown.

You’ll also have access to your own Clan Keeper. Think of them as your private holiday PA to assist with everything from the best local tailoring service to personal city tours, personal shopping trips, and of course, a flawless laundry service.

Exploring: While The Clan offers a feeling of pampered seclusion, outside the hotel is abuzz with Michelin-starred restaurants, a cutting-edge bar and club scene, and tourist attractions such as the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands. This waterfront district is also a favourite with culture-lovers as it’s close to the National Museum of Singapore and several ancient Hindu and Buddhist sites.

Not sure where to start? Don’t worry, The Clan’s Inner Circle Guide is your ticket to introductions and extra perks at the hotel’s dining and entertainment partners.

Getting here:
The Clan Hotel is a 25-minute drive from Changi International Airport, with a limousine transfer available for a memorable arrival.
