Just minutes from busy Orchard Road is Singapore Botanic Gardens – a haven of serenity teaming with flora and fauna, freestanding sculptures and other nature delights. There are numerous walking trails that take between 40 to 90 minutes, as well as free guided walking tours held most Saturdays. Unwind in the tranquil surrounds of the Eco-Garden amid bamboo, fruit trees and bougainvilleas, or at Eco-Lake, which is home to beautiful black swans. There's also a Trellis Garden featuring climber plants, and a Fragrant Garden with inviting aromas and a boardwalk that is beautifully lit at night. Discover the waterfall, pool with Amazon water lilies and romantic night lighting at the Ginger Garden, which contains different species of ginger organised into their regions of origin. Learn something at the Healing Garden, which contains more than 400 species of plants commonly used in Southeast Asia to treat medical ailments. It's laid out thematically relating to various parts of the body. If you're a music enthusiast, head to Palm Valley to see a live orchestral performances. Plus, there's loads more things to see and do there. 


Singapore Flyer at Marina Bay offers an eagle-eye view of Singapore, along with glimpses of neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia. It's one of the world's largest observation wheels at 165 metres above ground level, and is reported to be 30 metres higher than the UK's famous London Eye.
