Delicious drinks (other than wine)
Wine may be (arguably) the Yarra Valley’s most well-known export, but if you prefer a drink of another kind you definitely won’t go home thirsty. Apple orchards are big here, so naturally cider is too. For a glass of something sweet and chilled, go to Napoleone Brewery & Cider House in Coldstream (just next door to The Stables at Stones). Also known for its beer, the brewery is open for tastings, tours (bookings are essential) and relaxed drinks.
If you’re in the mood for something stronger, check out Healesville’s Alchemy Distillers.Featuring a stylish bar and a kitchen serving American classics like gourmet loaded fries and 18-hour slow-cooked beef brisket, the distillery also features boutique apartment accommodation in its loft – perfect if you’re sampling Alchemy’s fabulous cocktail list. Looking for something a little more simple (but amazing)? Wander over to nearby Four Pillars Gin Distillery for tastings and to purchase a take-home gift, from you to you.
