One of Koh Samui’s most enduring luxury resorts has just reopened its signature clifftop restaurant, The Height, as part of a broader evolution marking Silavadee Pool Spa Resort’s 18th anniversary.

The redesigned space sits perched above the Gulf of Thailand, enclosed by floor-to-ceiling arched glass that draws the sea and surrounding palms directly into the dining room. Warm teak tables and a slatted timber ceiling sit beneath the glass, with every seat facing the water. An alfresco terrace extends beyond the glass walls for open-air dining among the treetops, with an unobstructed horizon across the Gulf. The redesign follows a Tropical Sunset concept, with architecture, materials and light calibrated to the rhythm of the coastline.

The Height now operates as an all-day dining destination, serving international cuisine at breakfast, Thai through the day, and an elevated Southern Thai menu each evening. Menus draw on locally sourced produce and the resort’s farm-to-table approach, with ingredients from nearby growers and the resort’s own gardens.

The restaurant reopening is the first move in a larger expansion. Silavadee will add 18 new pool villas — in two-, three- and four-bedroom configurations — expected to open in 2027. Designed around natural rock formations and a back-to-nature philosophy, each villa will feature a private infinity-edge pool, open-plan living spaces and glass façades with sweeping sea views.
