The Hari Hong Kong is poised to captivate guests with two upcoming events celebrating art, culture, and local heritage. Known as a cultural hub in the heart of Wan Chai, The Hari Hong Kong blends luxury and artistic flair, offering unique experiences to both travellers and residents alike.
On Thursday, 21 November 2024, The Hari Chronicles will host an engaging evening centred around the work of Austrian graphic designer Henry Steiner, who shaped Hong Kong’s visual identity with creations such as the iconic HSBC logo. This fourth edition of The Hari Chronicles will feature a conversation between collector and designer John Wu, and authors Christopher DeWolf and Billy Potts, co-authors of Henry Steiner’s Hong Kong, the first volume in the Zolima Culture Guide series. The event will be held in The Lounge at The Hari Hong Kong from 6.30–7.30 pm, preceded by a drinks reception at 6 pm. Wu will present vintage objects showcased in the book, offering guests a tangible link to Steiner’s influence. Attendees are welcome to join the conversation and Q&A session, with RSVPs required by 7 November 2024 (email: chronicles@thehari.com).
Continuing its support of local artistry, The Hari Hong Kong is also hosting the second edition of The Hari Art Prize, in collaboration with London-based A Space for Art. Open to self-taught artists and recent art graduates within the first decade of their careers, the prize invites submissions until 16 December 2024. A display of selected works and a special prize ceremony will take place on 13 March 2025, with the winner receiving a HK$100,000 award, generously donated by Dr. Aron Harilela, chairman and CEO of Harilela Hotels Ltd.
