There’s something utterly intoxicating about Bangkok when viewed from 64 floors above the fray. The golden spires of temples pierce through the urban sprawl, the Chao Phraya River serpentines between gleaming towers, and the city’s legendary chaos transforms into an enchanting tapestry of light. It’s here, high above the rhythm of the city, that lebua at State Tower captures the heart—Thailand’s original all-suite luxury hotel where romance rises with the skyline, as we discovered on our recent stay.

Overview

From the moment we step into the elegant ground-floor lobby and are whisked skyward to our Tower Club Suite, we realise we’ve entered somewhere truly extraordinary. Lebua at State Tower doesn’t merely offer accommodation; it provides an elevated experience that has, for decades—both literally and figuratively—risen above the competition.

This hotel put Bangkok’s rooftop scene on the global map, with the world-famous Sky Bar gracing countless Instagram feeds and Hollywood films alike. But beyond the glamorous reputation lies impeccable service, suites that redefine space and luxury, and dining experiences that rank amongst Asia’s finest.

The property’s crowning glory remains its collection of restaurants and bars perched impossibly high above the city. Each venue offers not just exceptional cuisine but theatre on a grand scale, with Bangkok’s glittering skyline providing the most spectacular backdrop imaginable. When the sun sets and the city lights begin their nightly dance, there’s simply nowhere more magical to be.

Room for Two - Lebua at State Tower, Bangkok - Tower Club City View Suite Bedroom

Our Premium City View Tower Club Suite was nothing short of spectacular, both in scale and in view. At 66m², with a separate living area and plush seating, it reflects lebua’s legacy as one of Bangkok’s original luxury hotels—built in an era when space itself was the ultimate indulgence. These proportions remain a rare advantage over the city’s newer, more compact offerings.

The bedroom’s king bed, layered in Egyptian cotton, offered true sanctuary after long days in the city, while the marble bathroom—with its deep soaking tub and generous layout—felt like a private retreat of its own.

Lebua at State Tower is in the midst of a phased redesign, with newly refreshed suites set to be unveiled through early 2026. For couples drawn to grandeur and Bangkok’s most iconic skyline views, the Tower Club Suites already deliver—and with the redesign, the hotel is set to remain one of the city’s most memorable stays.

Dining

Mezzaluna

Lebua’s reputation for gastronomy is as towering as its architecture, with a collection of award-winning restaurants that rivals any global capital. At the very top sits Mezzaluna, the two-Michelin-starred European dining room on the 65th floor, where Chef Ryuki Kawasaki crafts exquisite tasting menus that reflect both precision and artistry—each course as finely tuned as the glittering skyline beyond.

Chef’s Table at lebua delivers another two-Michelin-starred experience. The French menu unfolds in a circular dining room where Chef Vincent Thierry and his team work from the centre, framed by a Molteni stove in Carrara marble. The setting blurs the line between theatre and haute cuisine, with guests surrounding the kitchen in a unique vertical stage.

For a lighter, more playful interlude, Pink Bar pours prestige cuvées and sparkling cocktails in a retro-chic champagne lounge. Sirocco, on the 64th floor, shifts the mood back to timeless romance: Mediterranean dining on an open-air terrace with lebua’s imposing golden dome above you, complete with nightly live jazz music and the city glittering beyond.

And then, of course, there’s Sky Bar. Perched dramatically beside Sirocco, the curved counter is cantilevered 247 metres above Bangkok and has become a global icon since The Hangover Part II. Order their signature cocktail, the Hangovertini, and sink into the scene: cocktail gleaming in hand, skyline unfurled in every direction, and a sense of sophistication that lingers long after the night ends.

Couples will love

During a stay at lebua, couples will appreciate more than just the view. Tower Club at lebua guests enjoy private Balcony Suites with majestic panoramas of the river, a quiet refuge from the city. Mornings might begin with breakfast in the exclusive Tower Club Lounge, afternoons drift by poolside at Café Mozu, and evenings crown the day with rooftop cocktails under velvet skies. It’s these little pauses — luxury in repose — that turn a stay into something truly unforgettable.
