Couples on a romantic getaway will love

There’s something undeniably romantic about the Australian bush. And waking up with your loved one in the comfort of your own canvas hideaway with just the sounds of the birds and the occasional kangaroo passing by is something that's sure to win over guests.

At Paperbark Camp, grab a canoe and a picnic, and explore the peaceful tidal reaches of the Currambene Creek. Or, get on the bikes to explore further afield or just take it easy and enjoy a long lazy breakfast, before heading into spectacular Booderee for a day under an umbrella, dipping regularly into the clear blue waters to cool off. Dinner in Paperbark Camp's treetop dining room is also a must-do – it's the perfect way to end the day before heading back to your private canvas hideaway under the stars.

Accommodation

The camp boasts accommodation for up to 30 people in permanent safari-style tents. All tents feature a verandah with outdoor furniture, solar-powered lighting, hotel-quality beds with luxury cotton linen, delicious bath and body products and their own private outdoor ensuite with hot shower.

There are various ‘room’ categories to choose from (the Original, Deluxe, Deluxe Plus and King Deluxe safari tent), all of which are perfect for couples, though some are also able to accommodate additional guests or children. The tents are furnished in a contemporary ‘bush-luxe’ style, with polished hardwood floors and luxury soft furnishings, as well as plenty of candle-light!

Best room for two

The safari tents are primarily designed for two, so take your pick! But for those really looking for privacy and to feel fully immersed in nature, book the Kingfisher tent. Situated right out on the edge of the camp and amongst towering gum trees, it's a bush hideaway that seems made for snuggling up with your loved one. One last delightful touch? The tent includes a freestanding bath with magnificent views.

Spring 2019 will also see the unveiling of Paperbark Camp's new honeymoon tent – watch this space. The biggest and most luxurious of the camp's offerings, it's set to be an over-the-top homage to the romance and mystical beauty of northern Africa.

Dining and leisure

A highlight of any stay at Paperbark Camp is dining in the Gunyah treetop dining room. With wide verandahs and a soaring ceiling, it's a magical space that's great for enjoying breakfast and dinner. During the cooler months, a large fireplace and outdoor campfire provide the perfect atmosphere for curling up with a glass of red wine or a hot chocolate – yes, please! With a focus on fresh, seasonal and contemporary Australian menus and a carefully curated wine list featuring the best of regional wines, the camp's restaurant promises an unforgettable dining experience!

For an extra-special day out, request a picnic for two and take the bikes along the White Sands Walk , stopping along the way for a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Jervis Bay. Or, head into the Booderee National Park and discover the unspoilt beauty of the south coast.
