In Articles, Travel News by The H4C Team

Buy an incredible photo. Help feed a family in need. It’s as simple as that! A group of friends, safari guides and wildlife photographers have donated their best images to create Photos For Food, helping alleviate hunger in South African communities hit hard by the COVID-19 lockdown.

Nourish is an established not-for-profit focused on the rural villages in Mpumalanga, one of the country’s most poverty stricken and under-served areas.

With wildlife lodges currently empty, many locals have been left without jobs or means to support their families. Photos For Food sees 50 percent of all purchases contributing to Nourish food parcels — buy one digital image for only $20 and you’ll be feeding a family of four for a week!

Not only is this a fantastic initiative, the photos are seriously stunning. Founder of Photos For Food, safari guide Jonty Bozas, is joined by the talents of Ricci Bozas, Gareth Poole (Guide at Singita), Matthew Poole (MD at Safari Wines), Matthew Murray (Director at Completely Unique Safaris), Theo York (former Guide at Mala Mala Game Reserve), Nick Kleer (Guide at Completely Unique Safaris), Andrew Dankwerts (Guide for Wild Eye) and Grant Pengilly and Michelle Campbell (Owners of Wild Wonderful World).

And although the other 50% of your purchase goes towards the photographers (also currently unemployed) most are putting this money straight back into the community and conservation projects.
