Wellington on a Plate to return for month-long event

In Travel News by The H4C Team

Thinking of escaping to New Zealand for a romantic getaway but not sure when to go? Mark it down for any time in August, with the beloved Visa Wellington on a Plate festival returning for a whole month (a first for the festival). We. Cannot. Wait.

A spectacular celebration of Wellington’s culinary scene, the gourmet festival (August 1-31) has plenty to entice couples to cross the ditch. From lavish Roman-style feasts and insightful cooking classes to quirky pop culture-inspired meals (including ‘A night at Bonnie Doon’ with rissoles and sponge cake, like from The Castle), the festival will showcase the best that the city and its surrounds have to offer.

Still hungry for more? There’ll also be a fabulous beer celebration, wine-blending sessions, cheese-making workshops, a ‘Drive in & Dine ’90s Movie Night’ and indulgent degustation courses. We’d happily put our hands up for all of those experiences!
