Spa days and vacays. They’re a match made in holiday heaven. And with voting now open for the 7th annual World Spa Awards, you can send your favourite luxury spa, spa brand, or wellness experience some love.
How does it work? Nominees are posted online in a broad range of global and region-specific categories from which industry professionals and spa devotees can cast their vote. The winners are then crowned at a gala event in Dubai in October 2021. As a sister event to the World Travel Awards, it’s a top spot to update your wish list.
Check out the World’s Best New Hotel Spa and Best New Resort Spa contenders: this year they includes Ruby Spa at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa and the hydrothermal haven at Banyan Tree Krabi. Or explore the specialist categories including Best Wellness App and Best Private Island Spa (did somebody say ‘private island’?). We also love the World’s Best Spa Signature Treatment category, which includes The Starlight Ocean Massage at Waldorf Astoria Spa Ithaafushi Maldives and the decadent Royal Heritage Ritual at Spa Uluwatu at InterContinental Bali Resort.
Among the Australian contingent are Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, and the Spa at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley (both up for World’s Best Eco Spa). Australia also has two hot contenders in the Best Beauty Salon category — celeb fave Melanie Grant in Sydney and Melbourne’s MISS FOX.
Online voting closes 08 September 2021 with the winner unveiled 20 October 2021.
