One of our favourite things about travelling to Bali is being able to indulge in fresh and fragrant Indonesian food to our heart’s content. If you’re like us then you won’t want to miss this year’s Ubud Food Festival, showcasing the extraordinary diversity of the world’s largest archipelagic nation.
The Ubud Food Festival will kick off three days of delicious delights from June 5-7. Not only will you be able to sample some of the nation’s finest cuisine, but also learn about food mythology and authentic culinary methods.
Scores of international chefs will be in attendance at the festival bringing their unique styles of cooking to the table. There will be a range of free and ticketed events including cooking demonstrations, workshops, masterclasses, markets, food tours and much more. Couples will no doubt pick up some new cooking skills to take home with them.

If its sister festival the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is anything to go by, the Ubud Food Festival is not to be missed. Founder and director of the Ubud Food Festival Janet DeNeefe says that they have been waiting to launch the Food Festival for even longer than they have been running the Writers & Readers Festival which celebrates its 12 year anniversary this year.
DeNeefe states that as well as the Ubud Food Festival being all about tasting all of the delightful food on offer, it’s also about the experience of seeing the food transform from the supplier to the plate.
