Combining all this, specialists in small, authentic group tours Walk Japan has unveiled a collection of incredible Japan walking tours. A brilliant way to discover one of the world's most-loved destinations, their new Onsen Gastronomy tours have us packing our bags!

Available through a partnership with the Onsen Gastronomy Tourism Association, Walk Japan is now offering tours through Oita and Kumamoto in Kyushu and Gifu and Nagano in Honshu. Focusing on Japan's gourmet and wellness scenes, each guided walking tour (available for up to five days) allows ample time to take in all of Japan's marvellous sights.

Visit onsen and experience traditional Japanese bathing

Led by an expert Tour Leader, groups of up to 12 travellers will get the chance to immerse themselves in the local culture. Experience bathing the traditional way each day in a charming local inn, sample exquisite Japanese cuisine, visit onsen hot springs and see breathtaking rural regions for a once-in-a-lifetime escape.

Concerned about all the walking? You'll take it at a leisurely pace, with distances each day limited to up to ten kilometres, but averaging between six to eight kilometres. Sounds ideal to us!
