RISONARE Nasu is expected to open August 2019

Japan high on your travel wish-list? Looking for somewhere unique for your next overseas adventure? Later this year, luxury hotel group Hoshino Resorts will open Japan's first agriturismo resort in the spectacular Nasu highlands. Curious? We thought you might be…

A combination of agriculture and tourism, 'agriturismo' refers to places where travellers can visit to experience a destination's local agriculture and natural environment, and enjoy a cultural exchange. Brining this concept to Japan, Hoshino Resorts' new RISONARE Nasu will invite guests to be involved in local growing practices and enjoy incredible seasonal activities.

Located at the base of Mount Nasu in the Tochigi Prefecture, the new resort is situated in an area known for its beautiful natural environment. Surrounded by natural forests, 43 guest rooms, a spa and Japanese-style public bath will call RISONARE Nasu home. At the heart of the resort, an 'Agri-garden' will feature fields and greenhouses. Here, guests can participate in workshops like sowing seeds and harvesting crops – how's that for a unique getaway?

Rounding everything out, the resort's two hotels will serve Italian cuisine made with the vegetables and herbs gathered from the Agri-garden. Gourmands, you can also make pizza with your harvested produce at RISONARE Nasu's more relaxed cafe. Want more? There'll also be a rotating list of seasonal activities – watch this space.

Expected to open August 2019, Hoshino Resort's RISONARE Nasu promises to be an exciting accommodation option for Japan-bound travellers. To find out more, visit the resort's website here.
