Expect quirky events, like a thrilling 'dunny derby'

Looking to experience a little classic Aussie culture? This September (24-29), head to Queensland's Winton during its 'Year of the Outback' for the 25th Outback Festival.

Set to be its biggest event yet, the quirky gathering will feature an array of eyebrow-raising activities – think a unique 'dunny derby' and wool bale rolling. Oh, this is no ordinary event…

Events like whip-cracking and bush poetry will celebrate classic Aussie culture

Celebrating the charms of country life, the Outback Festival will include plenty of live entertainment, plus whip-cracking, strongman challenges, a heritage truck show, a grand parade, bush poetry readings and a special Century Cycle Challenge. There'll also be special guests, with the lineup yet to be announced – watch this space.
