You might want to pack your bags a little earlier this year if you want to see Japan's cherry blossoms

It's no secret that Japan's world-famous cherry blossoms are a popular reason for visiting the incredible destination (seriously, add it to your bucket-list). Now, thanks to an official forecast, travellers are being told to pack their bags a little earlier this year.

Usually flowering early April, the bubble-gum-pink blossoms are expected to appear as early as mid-March in the Kochi Prefecture due to warmer temperatures. Predicted to follow, Fukuoka's blooms are forecasted for mid- to late-March, while Nagoya, Tokyo and Hiroshima are expected late-March. If you've already booked a Japan getaway for April, though, you'll still be able to see plenty of gorgeous cherry blossoms throughout the month.
