Discover Kangaroo Island's magnificent Wilderness Trail with the comforts of home

If you're seeking an adventure-packed getaway but still admittedly want the comfort of a room with four sturdy walls, swap the camping trip for SeaLink South Australia's new all-inclusive Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail packages. Allowing couples to explore the island's spectacular landscapes for themselves, the three-, four- and five-day accommodated self-drive packages are perfect for a romantic getaway with a difference.

Located in Kangaroo Island's southwest and taking in some of Australia's most spectacular wildlife and scenery, the Wilderness Trail offers plenty for nature-lovers. Each day, SeaLink transfers guests to the trail to continue their walk and, after a day of adventure, returns them to the very comfortable KI Wilderness Retreat for the evening. With touches like hot showers, a restaurant and plush king beds, the retreat is sure to make guests feel ready to take on the next day.

The walk kicks off with a 12-kilometre journey from Flinders Chase Visitors Centre to Cup Gum Campsite at Snake Lagoon, taking in the famous Platypus Waterholes, the Rocky River Trail and Pardalote Lookout along the way. Days two and three feature beautiful spots like Maupertuis Bay, Cape du Couedic Lighthouse and Sanderson Bay. Those staying on for the next two days will be treated to the sensational Cape Younghusband, Hanson Bay, South West River, Kelly Hill Conservation Park, the Grassdale Lagoons and the Kelly Hill Caves. Altogether, the journey makes for a truly memorable experience.

SeaLink's Wilderness Trail packages start from $845 per person, twin share for the three-day/three-night package. All packages are all-inclusive, covering return SeaLink Ferry transfers, accommodation at the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat, continental breakfast each morning, packed picnic lunch, a two-course dinner each night, trail passes, maps and more.
