Boutique accommodation group Bannisters has opened a new offering in New South Wales' Port Stephens

Time for a romantic short break? Synonymous with luxury and sensational culinary experiences, boutique accommodation group Bannisters has opened a new offering in New South Wales' scenic Port Stephens. Taking in spectacular views from the beachfront of Soldiers Point, this stylish hideaway is perfect for a coastal getaway.

Take in spectacular water views from the hotel's infinity pool

Showcasing its magnificent location, the new Bannisters Port Stephens boasts 78 rooms that look out over the water. With four luxury suites, a penthouse and fifty rooms, the chic escape is tucked away amongst bushland and forest.

Bannisters general manager Peter Bacon says guests can expect an intimate and beautifully relaxed escape. "The Soldiers Point location is exquisite and our creative team – including architect Tony Freeman, interior designer Romy Alwill and landscape designer Will Dangar – have made the most of the unimpeded water views," says Bacon.

Topping off a stay at Bannisters Port Stephens, the hotel's glamorous infinity pool and bar also offer excellent views. And, sure to impress gourmands, three brilliant dining options celebrate the region's culinary gifts.

Ideal for a romantic evening, Rick Stein at Bannisters by Sarah and Rick Stein serves up incredibly fresh seafood (think local king prawns, sand whiting, snapper and Sydney rock oysters), with the acclaimed chef lending his talents to the menu's creation. Guests can also treat themselves to Stein's signature Fruits de mer platter, oysters Charentaise, fish and shellfish soup with rouille, Madras curry of the blue eye travella with tomato and tamarind, and the chef's popular fish pie.

Indulge in exquisite local seafood at the hotel's different dining options

Serving more relaxed fare, the hotel's Tavern Bar and Terrace Restaurant promise to delight guests with mouthwatering cuisine, while keeping things fuss-free.

Pull up a chair at the Terrace Restaurant for dishes like steamed bao buns, fish tacos, haloumi salad, burgers, grilled baramundi, scotch fillet or Archie Rose gin and tonic cheesecake. Or, enjoy classic pub fare (with a touch of refinement) at the Tavern Bar. Wherever you choose to dine, you'll enjoy elegant surroundings, designed to reflect the Rick Stein brand.
