Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park – image by David Kirkland

Brisbanites, here's your cue to finally go see Uluru. Jetstar has just announced that it will start thrice-weekly direct flights to the Red Centre, starting August.

Landing at Ayres Rock Airport, the new low-fare service will give travellers unprecedented access to one of Australia's most incredible icons and the Northern Territory's rich culture. Acting CEO for the Northern Territory's Department of Tourism and Culture Michael Tennant said that now is an exciting time for the Top End. "Brisbane is a key international gateway airport (after Sydney and Melbourne) and, until now, there have been no direct flights between Brisbane and Uluru,” he said. “That’s all about to change on August 3 – and what a great time to visit.”
