Become a samurai for the day at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo – sourced via

Sure, you could spend your next day chilling out. You could take a dip in the hotel's pool. Or you could become a skilled Japanese warrior for the day – you know, just for something different.

Japan's five-star Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is offering guests the chance to be a samurai in a unique 90-minute workshop. Led by internationally recognised sword artist Tetsuro Shimaguchi's (of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 fame) "Kengishu-Kamui" sword troupe, the one-of-a-kind class will teach guests sword techniques and traditional Japanese values. If you'd prefer to watch the experts do it, the hotel's Private Samurai Show is also sure to be a hit. An over-the-top, theatrical display of impressive samurai feats, the show includes a night of Kaiseki cuisine (a traditional multi-course dinner).
