See Switzerland's breathtaking scenery for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday

Couples who want to visit Switzerland without breaking the bank, take note. The Alpine wonderland can be an affordable destination to visit with these clever hacks.

Avoid Peak Seasons

Summer in Switzerland is the busiest time to travel, so avoid visiting between July and August. Winter is also a peak time (between mid-December to early February) with visitors travelling around the world for winter-sports. Time your visit at the start or end of these seasons when costs are significantly lower and enjoy (still) pleasant weather and a wide array of exciting outdoor activities.

Pick an alternative stay

Zurich is a must-visit while in Switzerland, but make sure you explore the rest of the nations beautiful regions. Look outside the main hotspots and you'll discover a fabulous selection of Alpine huts surrounded by pristine nature. Heaven.

Book a Travel Pass

Transport doesn't have to be expensive in Switzerland. The Swiss Travel Pass gives holders unlimited travel on all of the country’s public buses, trains and boats. Pass holders also receive up to 50 per cent off mountain railways and cableways, as well as free access to more than 500 museums across the nation.

Explore Switzerland... for free

We all love a freebie and there's plenty of cost-free things to see and do in Switzerland that can make for an unforgettable holiday. Be sure to book a few guided tours to get an in-depth Swiss experience, but also mix things up with outdoor activities. Hiking trails are well marked and free to use, and swimming in Switzerland's lakes and rivers (most allow swimming) is something couples will never forget. Culture vultures will also love hopping from one museum to another, with entry free for Swiss Travel Pass holders.
