1. Four Seasons Golden Triangle (Thailand)
Perched on a jungle hillside, the tented camp has views of three countries – Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. Tents are furnished with safari-style handcrafted furniture, mosquito nets and hand-hammered copper bathtubs.
Activities include bird watching, cooking classes and hiking. But most visitors come for the Mahout training, where you learn to control an elephant by riding on its neck. Food is superb and a daily changing menu of Thai and Western cuisine is served in an intimate thatched-roof pavilion.
