There’s now a submarine ride-share service in the Great Barrier Reef

In Travel News by The H4C Team

There’s a new way to explore Queensland’s magnificent Great Barrier Reef, with Uber launching a special submarine ride-share service with Tourism and Events Queensland. Available between May 27 and June 18, scUber allows travellers to dive the reef’s fascinating depths… for an indulgent $3,000 (for two people). Curious? We certainly are!

Exploring Heron Island from May 27 and Agincourt Reef (just off the coast of Port Douglas) from June 9, the exciting new service is sure to make for magical memories. After being picked up by Uber (of course) from either Cairns, Port Douglas, Gladstone or Palm Cove, you’ll be whisked away by helicopter to your choice of scUber destination. From there, you’ll hop aboard the three-person submarine with your skilled driver and dive under the water’s surface for an hour (as you do).

Keen to get amongst it all? Tourism and Events Queensland and scUber are giving away a spectacular holiday package, including return flights, a scUber experience, World-heritage listed Daintree Rainforest tour, $250 Uber credit and five nights’ luxury accommodation at Riley, a Crystalbrook Collection Resort. Once-in-a-lifetime escape? We think so!

As part of its new scUber service, Uber will be partnering with Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef and donating $100,000 to the organisation, plus the equivalent value of each scUber ride booked.
