Going on an adventure holiday? Or just want to streamline your packing? “The world’s best travel jacket” will soon be available, thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that aimed to raise US$20,000 – and has ended up with more than US$9 million.

So why all the love from the Kickstarter community?

The jacket, from fashion brand BauBax, comes in different styles and colours for both men and women (and a blazer option for when you’re trying to blag an upgrade into Business Class). But it’s the 15 different features hidden within each jacket that have got people all revved up. They’re like Transformers: there are pockets for sunglasses, portable charger and smartphone; a larger one for an iPad or tablet; a built-in neck pillow; earphone holders; an eye mask (so you can get some shut-eye while travelling); a zipper that doubles as a pen and a stylus’ built-in gloves and more. There’s even a small pouch to hold your drink. It’s Kickstarter’s most funded clothing project to date – and last we looked, it’s number six on the list of most-funded projects ever.
