Gourmands, if you haven’t yet stayed at Maleny’s Spicers Tamarind, there’s now another reason to book a romantic getaway. Known for its exceptional Asian-inspired cuisine, the retreat’s Tamarind Restaurant has taken out two titles at the 2018 Queensland & Northern Territory Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence. We’re certainly hungry for a weekend away now!
Winning the Asian Restaurant Queensland and Breakfast Restaurant Sunshine Coast categories, the Thai restaurant stood out amongst 150 entrants. And it’s no wonder – with dishes like Pan-seared duck with fried Sichuan-style long beans, lychee, scalloped braised cabbage, tamarind and hoi sin sauce on the menu, the restaurant is a foodie’s heaven.
Spicers Tamarind Retreat General Manager Ryan Dilion says the accolades are thanks to the work of Head Chef Daniel Jarrett and his talented team. “Dan and our team of chefs continue to take our dining offering to the next level, serving up the freshest produce in the most unique ways,” says Dilion. “It’s great to be acknowledged and for the team to be recognised for their continuous hard work and attention to serving the best food possible.”
The finals for the National Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence will be held in October, 2018. To find out more about The Tamarind Restaurant’s acclaimed fare or to make a reservation, visit the Spicers Tamarind Retreat website here.
