No wonder Netanya Noosa has held a cherished place in our hearts for nearly three decades. And, as we discovered on a recent weekend stay, its latest transformation has made it even more enticing.
With newly revamped interiors and exteriors, Netanya offers a modern yet distinctively Noosa holiday experience, combining elegant seaside style with an unparalleled position beside the Noosa Surf Club. Here, laid-back luxury comes naturally, with the best dining, boutique shopping and scenic beauty right on your doorstep and the tranquil trails of Noosa National Park just a short stroll away.
The redesigned spaces provide a touch of relaxed glamour, with one, two and three-bedroom apartments offering sweeping views over Laguna Bay or the vibrant scene along Hastings Street. At the ‘Paris end’ of Hastings Street, Netanya Noosa revels in its prized beachfront position, just steps from the protected, north-facing shoreline of Main Beach, 35 minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport, and under two hours from Brisbane. This prime location invites couples to step out into the heart of Noosa’s vibrant scene, whether for an evening at one of the renowned restaurants or a leisurely morning exploring the coastal trails and secluded picnic spots of Noosa National Park.
Having said that, although we dressed up to go out for dinner on Friday night, we quickly realised no dinner table could offer the view our rooftop did. So, we wound up getting a bottle of wine, pizza and salad to enjoy under the stars!
Best Room for Two:
Most of Netanya’s luxury self-contained apartments face the ocean, with a choice of direct pool, direct beach, mid-level and rooftop options. Each captures the laid-back luxury of this chic destination, elegantly designed and complete with thoughtful touches including luxury Appelles bath amenities, flexible housekeeping, and complimentary pool towels for your stay.
Our top pick for two would usually be the One Bedroom Beachfront Rooftop Terrace Apartments. Sitting pretty on the resort’s top level, they offer panoramic views over Laguna Bay and Noosa Main Beach. Each apartment includes a luxurious king bed, well-equipped kitchenette, separate bathroom with bathtub, spacious living area, private BBQ balcony, and an exclusive rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean.
On this occasion, we were lucky enough to nab the One Bedroom Premium Beachfront Penthouse, an exceptional choice for special stays or longer retreats. Upon arrival, we stepped into a space that has recently been elevated to an ultra-luxe level, complete with high-end appliances, fluted panels accentuating the gentle curves of the walls, and stylish artwork and furnishings in a calming coastal palette.
Ideally positioned in the heart of Netanya, this exclusive designer penthouse offers sweeping views of Laguna Bay and Noosa Main Beach. If there’s a downside, it’s that there’s only one! Although the One Bedroom Hastings Rooftop Terrace Apartments, also recently renovated, are similarly luxe.
Renovations & Sustainable Touches:
Netanya Noosa’s recent renovation has enhanced the resort’s refined aesthetic while incorporating thoughtful sustainability practices. Through an innovative soap recycling programme, Netanya repurposes used soaps into fresh bars for distribution to communities in need, and their linen service partners use water- and energy-efficient technologies, ensuring your luxury stay is as eco-conscious as it is comfortable. These meaningful initiatives sit alongside local touches in the hotel’s amenities, including products from regional producers in the onsite gourmet grocery store/café and a showcase of Australian brands across the resort’s boutique shops.
Netanya’s commitment to community extends beyond hospitality too; they sponsor a boat at the nearby Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club, acknowledging the invaluable work of the local lifesaving team who keep Main Beach safe year-round.
Dining & Leisure:
Noosa’s much-celebrated food scene is at your fingertips here, with neighbouring Sails restaurant serving a beachside dining experience as iconic as it is delicious. You may have Chef Paul Leete’s Sails Noosa Cookbook at home, but nothing beats savouring his fresh, seasonal dishes and the restaurant’s sweeping Laguna Bay views in real life. For a more casual bite, Providore on Hastings, located in the resort lobby, offers artisanal coffee, light breakfasts, and picnic essentials — the perfect place to stock up your apartment fridge.
From there you can wine and dine along Hastings Street, with some of our Noosa favourites (looking at you Bistro C, Season, El Capitano, Locale, and Miss Moneypenny’s) just a short stroll away. We were tempted to book a massage at one of the many excellent local spa offerings, including Stephanie’s Ocean Spa, AQUA Day Spa and endota spa. But, in truth, we were perfectly content on our rooftop, basking in sunshine and sea breezes.
This dining and spa mecca is also renowned for its retail therapy. I made time for a wander through the boutiques and interior design troves, foraging for homewares at Signature on Hastings and updating my wardrobe wish-list at Alterior Motif, Sabbia and Palm Noosa. But the lure of a poolside lounger meant I didn’t venture far beyond the seaside strip. When you’re ready to unwind, Netanya’s heated beachfront pool invites relaxation, offering sparkling sea views and the occasional cooling bay breeze. And the luxury of opening the gate and stepping straight onto the soft sands of Main Beach never gets old. Heaven!
