Staff feature writers for Holidays for Couples, Lynn and Steve Hill, recently had a mini ‘breakation’ in Fiji…
Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Nadi airport is the stunning Denarau Island, so a holiday here is very easy.
There are a number of luxurious resorts on Denarau, all dotted strategically along the beach, lapped by the crystal clear blue waters of Nadi Bay. However, one resort stands out amongst the crowd – theSheraton Fiji Resort.
Staying at the Sheraton Fiji Resort gave us more options than you could ever imagine simply because by staying here, we had access to two other properties: The Sheraton Denarau Villas (for a more self-contained holiday), and The Westin – plus all the wonderful facilities that these three resorts offer!
Imagine having to use six swimming pools during your holiday, sitting by a different pool each day! There are so many activities to do throughout the day that it would definitely take a week to try them all. A visit to the beautiful Akuilau Island, situated in the bay off the mainland, is a must.
For him … a short trip in the complimentary Bula Bus, and just adjacent to the resort is the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club, with its classy 18-hole golf course, 300-metre driving range and a swag of tennis courts.
For her ... What could be better than lots of pampering in the Heavenly Spa by Westin? Looking like a little village of Fijian bures, 10 open-air therapy rooms beckon the Spa-aholic to indulge in a menu of blissful treatments – heavenly!
Oh yes, food … imagine having a choice of 17 restaurants and bars – all just a romantic stroll away. Our favourites were ”Flying Fish Fiji”, with a menu designed to make your mouth water by a master chef, Peter Kuruvita; and “Feast” with its atmospheric, red mosaic walls. Feast is just that fabulous feast of International foods served buffet style, YUM!
If you’re thinking of experiencing it like Lynn and Steve and heading for warmer climes, why not have a look at theSheraton Fiji?
