The Scenic Rim

Located just 60 minutes south of Brisbane, the World Heritage-listed Scenic Rim is blessed with some of Queensland’s most spectacular scenery. Stretching over 425,600 hectares, this incredible region is made up of little communities (like Mount Tamborine, Canungra and Mt Barney), national parks and vineyard-topped mountains.

Base yourselves on one of the Scenic Rim’s majestic mountains and spend a weekend away or extended stay exploring all the foodie gems in the area.

For a truly luxe escape, book a stay at Spicers Peak Lodge and enjoy fine dining, massages, cozying up by a fireplace with a bottle of wine and cooling off in the lodge’s infinity pool (the views from here are truly beautiful).

Or for an enchanting chalet stay, retreat from the rest of the world at The Mouses House Rainforest Retreat. Situated in the beautiful rainforest of the Springbrook Plateau, this charming hideaway is where you can soak in a private rock pool or hot tub, hike to a nearby waterfall or just relax in your own candlelit haven.

The Glass House Mountains

Relax in style at Glass on Glasshouse

Set in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (an hour north of Brisbane), The Glass House Mountains look like they’re straight out of an adventure film. And adventure is exactly what you’ll want to chase here, with multitudes of steep-sided volcanic peaks 25-million years in the making lending themselves to abseiling, hiking and rock climbing. But for those who are seeking relaxation, there’s plenty of picturesque picnic spots and scenic walking tracks on offer too.

One of the most sumptuous escapes here is the aptly named Glass on Glasshouse. A secluded and stylish retreat made up of only three self-contained cottages, it’s where you’ll be treated to luxuries like open fires, integrated sound systems for playing your favourite chill-out playlist and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to views of the mountains, rainforest and grazing wallabies in the distance.

Buderim

Just past the Glass House Mountains (around an hour north of Brisbane), Buderim Mountain is ideal for couples dreaming of a mountain and beach getaway. Sitting on a volcanic plateau, this laid-back spot is under 15 minutes’ drive from the golden sands of Mooloolaba Beach, Maroochydoore and Alexandra Hedland. The mountain itself offers a chill café and restaurant scene, rainforest walks and beautiful waterfalls (definitely check out Serenity Falls while you’re here).

Surrounded by lush rainforest, Amore on Buderim is a tranquil place to stay in the region. Set on just under three hectares of ancient rainforest, its luxury cabins feature plenty of romantic touches like log fires, double spas and verandahs that open out to palm-filled rainforest gardens. Discover Buderim’s natural gifts and relaxed lifestyle or take a day trip out to the many coastal communities and attractions (like Australia Zoo) nearby for a fantastic getaway.
