The new Mouses Lodge marks an exciting new chapter for the retreat, blending modern mountain-inspired design with the natural beauty of the surrounding rainforest. Thoughtfully designed to complement the environment, the Canadian inspired Lodge will feature a contemporary reception area, welcoming lounge, fireplace, pool table, sports Tv’s, bar spaces, café-style dining, and relaxed indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the rainforest stream. Upstairs, self-contained apartments with balconies will offer additional accommodation options, while the Lodge will also provide a beautiful setting for small private weddings, group gatherings, and special occasions. Designed with sustainability and guest comfort in mind, the Lodge will further enhance the overall retreat experience from its opening July 2026

Location

Nestled in the magnificent rainforest of the Springbrook Plateau, in the Gold Coast Hinterland. It feels a million miles from the everyday, but is only 40 minutes from the glamour of the Gold Coast.

The Mouses Rainforest Retreat & Lodge is a unique rainforest escape featuring 14 cosy, private chalets, thoughtfully designed across three distinct accommodation styles. Each fully self-contained chalet offers its own individual character, blending modern comfort with a romantic ambience. Guests can relax by the fireplace, unwind in a private two-person spa bath, and enjoy tranquil views of the cascading stream. Every chalet also includes a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, complimentary Wi-Fi, and streaming access using your own account — creating the perfect setting for a peaceful and memorable getaway.

To further elevate your stay, a new wellness facility featuring a hot tub, sauna, and gym is under construction, with completion anticipated from July 2026.

Best room for two for a romantic escape

This is a magical rainforest retreat, so it’s only fitting that all of the chalets are named for fairytale characters. The “Cinderella” and “Prince Charming” chalets were designed for couples looking for a unique romantic getaway, and each offers unique features. “Cinderella” has a jetty leading out to a private rock pool and hot tub, while “Prince Charming” has a raised BBQ patio with romantic, sweeping views of the stream.

When it comes to dining, each chalet’s well-appointed kitchen provides the flexibility of convenient self-catering, or guests can indulge in a romantic breakfast, lunch, or BBQ dinner basket, thoughtfully prepared by The Mouses hosts upon request. A selection of value-added packages is also available to enhance your stay. Nearby, several charming day-time cafés and galleries on Springbrook Mountain offer tempting menu options. From July 2026, our new Lodge will also introduce light lunch and evening meal options for guests to enjoy.

Springbrook is one of the most beautiful mountain destinations in Queensland with so much to explore. Couples can ride a mountain bike to visit spectacular waterfalls and stunning lookouts, or simply explore the romantic natural environment on a well-marked walking trail. Or for a fun activity without leaving the retreat, there’s tennis on the half-size court.
