Here’s a peek at Dirt Music, a film adaption of the classic novel by Australian author (and national treasure) Tim Winton. Slated for local release this year, Western Australia’s epic landscapes take centre stage alongside Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald, US actor Garrett Hedlund and local fave David Wenham.
From the producers of LION, and acclaimed director Gregor Jordan (Two Hands, Ned Kelly), the story is set against WA’s breathtaking landscapes, including Perth, Goldfields and Esperance, and Cape Leveque — a wildly remote part of the Kimberley and important Aboriginal cultural site.
Shortlisted for the prestigious Man Booker Prize, the haunting love story also won the 2002 Miles Franklin Award for Tim Winton, with the Perth author helping to create the film’s soundtrack.
