Move over hot stones, we’re all about the lava shell massage. Featured at the newly minted Banyan Tree Spa Krabi, a lava shell treatment begins with body wrap of pearl powder, followed by a special technique created exclusively for Banyan Tree using a heated lava shell.
“Pearl powder contains trace minerals and is high in calcium, which is conducive to healthy skin,” said spa manager Bussayawan Chanchai. “And the effect of massaging it into the muscles with a hot lava shell is ideal for relieving tension and stiffness.” Book us in.
We’re also keen to explore The Rainforest (a unique hydrotherapy haven of ice fountains and waterjets) and cocoon ourselves in one of eight double treatment pavilions which draw on colour therapy to address everything from energy drain to jet lag.
The spa is a fresh highlight for the 10-acre Banyan Tree Krabi (opened late 2020) which faces the sapphire expanse of the Andaman Sea and is set right on tranquil Tubkaek Beach.
Couples will love: a unique way to relax and recharge at one of Thailand’s most noteworthy new escapes.
