If you’re headed to Canggu, there’s an exciting new restaurant to add to your must-visit list. Dedicated to using carefully sourced, quality ingredients to make exquisite dishes from scratch and by hand, Mason offers couples a uniquely romantic dining experience. We wish we were there now.

The latest offering from Brett Hospitality Group (of Fishbone Local fame), the restaurant is all about celebrating the finest raw materials. Embracing a pared-back approach, Australian chef Nathan Sasi leads his talented team in using cooking methods like smoking and wood-fire grilling to make truly flavour-packed fare.
Expect dishes like wood-fired flat bread with taramasalata or brown butter and snapper croquettes with tangy lemon mayonnaise for starters, followed by substantial plates of wood-fired barramundi fillets with cardamom and smoked tomato, and slow-cooked lamb shoulder with salsa verde. The drinks list isn’t half bad, either.

Creating a beautifully laid-back setting for an intimate lunch or dinner, the restaurant’s sophisticated minimal design draws focus to where all the action is – the kitchen. Opting for a simple look inside, designer Kelvin Ho complements the space with eye-catching features like a hand-chiseled concrete bar.
Outside, Mason’s open-air, string-lit courtyard is perfect for keeping things relaxed with an ice-cold beer or expertly made Negroni – just what a Canggu getaway calls for!
