Beer Corner, Old Quarter Hanoi

Hanoi's Old Quarter is an interesting melange of Buddhist temples and French colonial architecture.

Made up of 36 streets, each is named for a specific line of trade, such as Hang Bac (silverwares), Bat Dan (wooden bowls), and Thuoc Bac (herbal medicines). The Old Quarter is also a great place to people watch – grab a plastic stool and a cold beer on 'beer corner', or a bhan cuon (stuffed rice pancakes), bun cha (grilled pork), pho (soup), xoi (sticky rice), and banh goi (fried food) at one of the many food stalls.
