Taipa Village

While Macau has been quite modernised, some parts of the enclave still honour the past. Taipa Village showcases its authentic Portuguese atmosphere that was so prevalent when the Portugese ruled Macau until the late 1990s.

Mostly painted in hues of yellow and green, the structures in Taipa comprise of old colonial houses, temples and churches. A casual look into some of the buildings will reveal bespoke boutiques, cafes and shops – perfect for day trips. The Museum of Taipa and Coloane History along the Rua de Carlos Eugenio is filled with artefacts and information about the village’s history and is a must-visit for history buffs.
