The SCIRT World Buskers Festival will be on again this January in Christchurch. From 16-26th, the festival will be gracing watchers and listeners with “some of the best street, circus and theatre talent in the world.”

This well-established festival is in its twenty-first year so you know it will be polished to perfection. The festival’s artistic director, Jodi Wright says “The scale of the festival is so much bigger but I think the main reason people keep coming back, and more people are checking us out, is because whether you’re a fan of highly skilled acrobatics, hoola-hoopers, trapeze artists, musicians, dancers, circus and vaudeville skits, burlesque, or you’re looking to entertain the kids in the school holidays – you’re guaranteed a good time and some belly laughs.”

Highlights include La Gateua Chocolate with his new show “I Heart Chocolat”; Sam Willis; iSite Buskers Burlesque; “Nothing but Stand-Up” comedy nights; Paul Nathan; and much more. THe full line up features 55 acts from 10 countries, so you’ll be sure to find something you both like.
