Exploring the captivating region in a recent photoshoot, Australian model Samantha Harris says there’s plenty of fabulous experiences on offer for couples. “We were literally chasing waterfalls,” says Harris. “Swimming in Davies Creek Rock Pool with that view out towards the valley is something I won’t ever forget – personally or professionally.”

From chilling out in the Daintree Rainforest and sailing along Fitzroy Island’s coastline to catching a helicopter flight to Cairns’ Vlasoff Sand Cay, the shoot celebrates the destination’s romantic side – it’s enough to give us a few ideas!

Tourism Tropical North Queensland Chief Executive Officer Pip Close says the destination is ideal for couples seeking relaxation, adventure and even a wellness-focused escape. “Tropical North Queensland is all about taking time out with incredible experience set against nature,” says Close. “With wellness a priority for many Australians in 2019, Tropical North Queensland is the place where they can feel grounded with incredible locations for hiking, biking, swimming, diving and yoga.”

Covering Cairns, Cardwell, Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands, Tropical North Queensland attracts more than 2.3 million visitors each year. Flights are available to Cairns from across Australia, making a holiday in this extraordinary destination all the more tempting.
