Well known for its reputation as ‘Vegas of the East’, Macau has now been recognised for having the largest number of world class five-star properties of any destination in the world.
The esteemed Forbes Travel Guide recently revealed its 57th list of Star Rating winners, and it includes Macau in all categories of best hotels, restaurants and spas, now cementing it on your must-do list for a romantic getaway.
The luxurious major international hotel Conrad Macau scored a first time five star rating alongside another lavish hotel, Wynn Macau, increasing the number of awarded hotels to eight.
An incredible four restaurants in Macau have also made the cut this year for the major rating, they include Belon at Banyan Tree Hotel, IlTeato at Wynn Macau Hotel, Tenmasa at Alitra Macau Hotel and Vida Rica at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Joining the previously acclaimed restaurants, Auroa at Altira Maccau Hotel, Golden Flower at Encore Macau Hotel, Jade Dragon and The Tasting Room at Crown Towers and Wing Lei at Wynn Macau Hotel. It’s impressive nine critically acclaimed restaurants and six five-star day spa’s leaves Macau’s reputation shining bright.
Helen Wong, the General Manager of the Macau Government Tourist Office Australia and New Zealand agrees, she stated “These are very exciting results for Macau, these prestigious ratings showcase to the world the first class quality of Macau’s hotels, restaurants and luxury day spa’s. The fact the team of professional inspectors from Forbes Travel Guide rated the properties so highly speaks volumes for Macau as a genuine global centre.”
The travel publication Lonely Planet’s listing of Macau as a ‘Top 10 Region’ to visit in 2015 was another accolade that the city welcomed this year, adding to its star power.
