Paris… London… Milan… Macao! That’s right, add this Asian destination to your must-visit list if it’s glamour you’re seeking. Connoisseurs of luxury adventures, Forbes Travel Guide has named Macao as a world leader in the luxury hotel and restaurant categories for 2018.

With 12 five-star luxury hotels (two more than its nearest rival, Paris) and 12 five-star restaurants, the former Portuguese enclave has cemented its place as one of the world’s most dazzling destinations.

“With new hotels and resorts opening – or due to open – we can only see another increase in five-star quality establishments,” says Helen Wong from the Macao Government Tourism Office (Australian and New Zealand office).

“For a long time, Macao has been globally recognised for the standard of its hotels and restaurants, and to receive such accolades provides further proof of the former Portuguese enclave’s standings.” In other words – watch this space.
