The super-stylish W hotel brand is coming to the Netherlands, with the opening of W Amsterdam on 21 September.

Sitting right behind the Royal Palace, the hotel’s brilliant location – between the renowned Dam Square and the city’s iconic canal district – means it’s smack-bang in the middle of most of Amsterdam’s attractions.

Innovative design has, quite literally, flipped things on its head, and the public spaces in this “upside down” hotel are all on the top floor. So you’ll be whisked to reception on the top floor – but you won’t need the traditional swipe card: a keyless entry system will let you use your smartphone or Apple watch to enter one of 238 stylish guestrooms (including 21 suites, two WOW suites and two Extreme Wow Suites – the W brand’s take on the Presidential Suite). And then there’s the W’s signature “Whatever/Whenever” service philosophy – need we say more?
