Thailand’s east coast has a new address for sun and style: LAY Beach Club, which opened this July on Pattaya’s Beach Road. Managed by the Meliá Pattaya team, the venue brings a touch of Mediterranean glamour to the Gulf of Thailand, just a short drive from Bangkok.

The centrepiece is its striking hydro bar – part pool, part cocktail lounge – where submerged loungers and cabanas spill out onto a stretch of soft sand. The effect is one of seamless horizon lines: water meeting water, cocktails in hand. A rooftop space above the main lounge lifts the atmosphere further, offering panoramic views over Pattaya Beach and room for up to 300 guests for sunset parties and late-night gatherings.

Food and drink are far from an afterthought. The à la carte menu spans Mediterranean and Asian flavours, with plenty oflocally sourced seafood. Think oysters with salsa verde, prawn-and-clam paella, and Sicilian cannoli filled with orange mascarpone. The bar team brings its own flair with creations like the pandan-infused Blue Tides or a fiery take on the Bloody Mary, the Sriracha Spark.
By day, LAY is all about sun-drenched lounging and poolside grazing; after dark, it shifts gear with DJs, dancers, and a fire show that lights up the beach. With its mix of laid-back afternoons and high-energy nights, it’s already being tipped as Pattaya’s new “place to be.”
LAY Beach Club is open daily from 11am to midnight. Reservations: +66 33 168 599.
