Don't forget these steps for a dream destination wedding in Thailand

Ask anyone what's the top spot for a destination wedding and chances are they'll say Thailand. And with a vast selection of beachside venues, a moderate climate all year round and equally warm hospitality, it's no wonder why. Best of all, Thailand offers something for every budget.

To take the stress out of the planning, we've put together a quick checklist to ensure you're on your way to having your dream Thailand wedding.

Find gorgeous beach venues in Thailand

9 steps for Thai-ing the knot:

1. Select wedding venue and date

An obvious step, but possibly the most important one. Our suggestions? Research the regions of Phuket, Koh Samui, Hua Hin, and Pattaya for plenty of stunning options.

2. Check Legal Marriage Procedure

Contact your national embassy in Bangkok for paper proceeding. Once the paper is completed, it'll go through the translation process and be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok. After that, you'll need to book the local registrar to be present on your wedding day.

3. Choose whether you want a planner or to DIY

There's plenty to be said about both, but these helpful guides from Wedding Planners Abroad will set you on the right track.

4. Set wedding budget

Estimate how much you would like to spend on your wedding. Allow a little 'wiggle room' but try to set out a realistic budget and keep track of everything with a handy spreadsheet.

5. Prepare guest list

The number of guests attending will affect your wedding venue and budget, so the earlier you speak to your guests, the better you can manage the cost.

6. Select wedding attire and stationery

Plan 'the fun stuff' – the wedding dress, groom's suit, bridesmaid dresses, bridal shoes, bridal accessories, invitations, guests' welcome letters, thank you cards and the seating plan.

7. Plan sequence of wedding day

It's very important to have the sequence of your wedding day sorted so you and your guests will know what to expect on the day.

8. Search for the accommodations for guests

Hot tip: look into group accommodation to save money and keep all your out-of-town guests together.

9. Check the transportation to your wedding venue

A simple but important step that's easy to overlook. Guests will forgive a little delay, but you don't want to be hours late.
