Island dreaming. A couple-perfect Club Room at the ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort.

Japan’s Ishigaki Island welcomes a new level of luxury

It astounds us every time: the impossibly blue waters of the Yaeyama Archipelago in Japan’s southern Okinawa prefecture. Home to beautiful beaches and vibrant coral reefs, this remote island wonderland now has a luxury edge thanks to the expansion of the ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort on the island of Ishigaki.

The hotel’s new Club InterContinental is a luxury haven in its own private enclave (featuring luxe new Club rooms and a dedicated lounge and swimming pool) and part of a greater hotel upgrade which includes eight restaurant and bar offerings and four indoor and outdoor pools.

Enjoy direct access to secluded Maesato Beach, seek out the rare blue coral reef of Shiraho, and explore the distinct Taiwan-meets-China-meets-Japan culture of this unique romantic escape. A gateway to the other 21 islands of Yaeyama, Ishigaki is served by its own airport with direct flights from Tokyo (around three hours).

Another one for the wish list!
