Synonymous with glamour and class, Melbourne’s Little Collins Street is once again the place to be, following the multi-million-dollar refurbishment of one of its most-loved hotels. Reopening under the TFE Hotels Collection brand, The Savoy Hotel has been given a fresh new look.
Previously known as the Vibe Savoy Hotel Melbourne, the iconic hotel invites couples to relax in style. Paying tribute to the Art Deco era of the original property, the new design from Woods Bagot also reflects the city’s high-end cosmopolitan scene. Each decked out with plush furnishings and a classic palette of dove grey blue, white and charcoal, 163 guest rooms provide a sumptuous place to stay just moments from Melbourne’s shopping and dining hotspots.
For those not wanting to venture too far, the new Alexander Bar on the ground floor is a cosy option for drinks and casual dining, while the Savoy Restaurant promises a chic night out.
Woods Bagot senior associate Sarah Alessi says the hotel’s new look will stand out to those seeking a romantic getaway in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. “The contemporary aesthetic of this design enhances the heritage of the building, while retaining a truth and authenticity relevant to its history,” says Alessi. “Drawing on elements of the Art Deco period, the space is bold and confident, and the design detailing references that of the era.”
