A classic tented camp with 11 luxurious tents and a Honeymoon Suite, Kempinski’s new outpost in the Olare Orok Conservancy on the bank of the Ntiakitiak River is a great place to experience the African wilderness in style.
The spacious tents are grandly furnished, with four-poster beds, classic colonial timber desks, comfy sofas and Oriental rugs.
Indoor bathrooms have slate floors, vanities with two sinks, separate toilets, solar-heated water, bathtubs and showers.
The Honeymoon Suite is larger than the other tents. It has its own plunge pool with comfortable pool lounges, where you can sit back and sip champagne while the hippos swim and snort in the creek nearby.
The camp’s main swimming pool is surrounded by deck chairs and serviced by enthusiastic staff from a well-stocked safari-style bar.
The staff are eager to please and nothing is too much trouble.
For lunch and dinner, the chef prepares a set menu with a couple of tasty options. The bush breakfast is a memorable experience, with champagne and a fully cooked breakfast in the wilderness.
Twice daily game drives are included in the tariff and the wildlife spotting is superb. There are three lion prides within a 30-minute drive from the camp and one pride living almost on the camp’s doorstep.
