Khiri Travel Sri Lanka has introduced a fabulous new itinerary to its repertoire, offering couples the opportunity to experience nature in the central Sri Lankan hill country.

The new three-day/two-night forest hiking trip from Ohiya to Bambarakanda includes guides, a porter and chef. With these creature comforts, it’s a great experience that can be added to a Sri Lankan trip.

Starting with an overnight train ride from Colombo through the hills of Kandy to Ohiya, the first day includes trekking 14 kilometres through tea plantation country. In the afternoon, couples can cool off at Bambarakanda waterfall, the tallest in Sri Lanka.

Couples will love camping overnight at a site next to the waterfall, spending the next day bathing in the natural basin of the upper Bambarakanda falls.

The final day on this nature experience is a walk through Bambarakanda village where couples can choose to head onwards to UNESCO world heritage reserves, national parks to see elephants or the beaches of the south coast.
