Enchanting Guilin

Guilin

In Must Do - China by The H4C Team

For breathtaking scenery, Guilin in the province of Guangxi has plenty to offer. Here you’ll find an area rich in history surrounded by giant mountains covered in bamboo. Play the adventurer and take a tour through the mysterious caves, sail above crystal clear waters in the many lakes or take in the city’s sights, like the beautiful Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas.

Abundant in tranquil natural landscapes, the region is blessed with an array of national parks that make for the perfect day-trip. Seven Star Park – named after the four peaks of Putuo Mountain and three of Crescent Mountain – boasts gorgeous vistas, as does Elephant Trunk Hill and Bajiaozhai National Park.

On a trip to Guilin, make sure you plan a visit to Jiangtouzhou Ancient Town. Nestled amongst farmland 32km north of Guilin, the 1,000-year-old village hosts cobblestone alleyways and rustic homes from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
